Acts 13 Moment
Another awesome Genfire gathering where we were all sinking in an ocean of God's grace, indeed, “how the Father loves us so, oh how the Father loves us so”.
I feel so blessed to be able to go to what would be my last genfire gathering for a long time and receive an impartation of the Holy Spirit.
It was a great confirmation as Donny asked me to go to the front to share what's on my heart about missions in the Philippines and that after they would pray for me to send me out.
Donny mentioned in his prayer that someone had prophesised to him that we will have an Acts 13 moment and on the 13th of July 2013 on the 7th month of the 7th year of Genfire, we experienced that Acts 13, at that very moment as all eyes closed, hands raise towards me, I felt the empowering of the Holy Spirit as they lifted me up in prayer. They, “Set me apart for God to do the work to which He has called me".
It was a testimony of God's goodness and call upon my life. I was prayed for and layed hands on by the congregtion as God commissioned me, I felt their blessing as they sent me out to the mission field, being a representative of Generation Fire to “go” and preach the gospel.
It has always been my hearts desire to be a missionary and to have a sending body that will support and affirm the call and work that I do for God in the Philippines. I felt like God honoured that night the desires of my heart.
When we finished praying, Judy went on to play another set of worship songs, and as I headed back to my seat, one by one, brother's and sister came up to me to share a Word that God had given them to show me. It was truly encouraging…
A sister told me of how she believes, Acts 13 was really a Word for me and that I should read it especially the part where Paul and Barnabas was confronted by a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus and that I should be aware of any opposition that would hinder me, and to be reminded that I would have the protection, authority and the power of God to overcome them as Paul fought this evil as he was filled with the Holy Spirit told Bar-jesus that he will lose his sight, for the hand of the Lord is against such a man who peverts his right ways.
Another sister came up to me to share her vision, and it was also affirmed with the song that was being sang at that very moment as she approached me,
“There is power in the name of Jesus, To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain”…
As everyone chanted over and over, she told me of a vision she had seen of me in chains and that God has freed me from these chains on my hands and feet…and that these chains would be used in my minitry and for my ministry.
She also saw God placing a crown on my head, and she believes this is God's favour upon my life and that I also need to ask the Father to receive this favour.
A brother also came up to me and affirmed the vision of our sister as he gave me the verse Deut. 28:5 where it says, Blessed shall be your basket and your store. Another sister then came up to me hugged me and lifted me up in prayer.
Then a brother came up to me and gave me verses from Psalm 89 and
Psalm 19. He said that God pursues me just like a groom goes after His bride, that it was so with God, He was pursuing me and that I should not step back. As a husband woes his wife, so with God who draws us in with his love.
The whole night was just filled with awesome spirit and truth filled worship, fellowship and love of brothers and sister in Christ as the Holy Spirit's fire was being set ablaze in our hearts. We basked in the presence of our Lord and drank from His well. I will truly miss our genfire gatherings when I go back to Philippines.
Extravagant is the love of the Father!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul, I'll worship Your holy name…
Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name”.
