The Father's Heart - Missions Heart
Missions Perspectives: Understanding The Heart of the Father
Imagine being a parent or some of you may already be parents, fathers, mothers;
Can you stand to see your child hungry, cold, scared, needing shelter, clothing, food? Can you imagine them asking you for help? Can you imagine them suffering injustice, discrimination, violence, rejection? Can you imagine them afraid and calling out to you in tears?
Will you not help them? Would you not answer if they cried out to you? Would you not look for your child if they went missing?
If that is how an earthly parent would feel, if that is how we feel for our own children imagine what our Father in heaven, our Creator feels for them?
Imagine how broken his heart must be for His lost children?
God seeks to save us - He hears the cries of His beloved lost children. God so loved the world.
Now imagine your child now not only hungry and needy, or lost but imagine your child dying? Would you not do and give everything you have to save them?
Well that is exactly what God the Father did. He sent his only begotten Son to seek and save us, it was His demonstration of His Love for all the world.
He gave us a Savior through which all the lost would find life and life in abundance!
Just like Christ was sent to tell us the good news to bring hope and salvation to the lost and the dying,
We are called to go and preach and bring them the good news of hope in Christ Jesus.
Today the work of Christ's saving grace is alive in the Power of the Holy Spirit and today we are the carriers of that Holy Spirit, we are the vessels through which people can hear the good news and find Life, Love, Truth and the Way!
How can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? Romans 10:14
We are to GO and and be the hands and feet of Jesus. We have a mandate, to seek and save the lost, to love them, share the good news and give them hope.
We are to feed the hungry, help take care of the needy for religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:35-37
We are the hope and light of the world today. We are who God could be sending to save a life.
I read someonewhere that we as christians have heard the gospel 3 or more times while there are people out there who have not even heard it once. How can we be ok with that?
Sometimes we lose sight in our complacency and comfortable homes and churches we forget, we are unaware that there is an emergency, there is an urgency, children are dying in third world countries every 8 secs, all around the world poverty, injustice, violence, crime rates are increasing by the second. And we can sit blindly unaware, or perhaps aware but have learned to shut turn a blind eye.
What is your heart? Is it the Heart of the Father's? Can you hear the heart's cry of the Father? And would you make your heart intune to His?
We are inviting you to partner with us, pray with us, on God's mission, to partake of the work and to take on the Challenge to "go", save a life for Jesus, in His mighty Name!
